In Coronavirus times – for encouragement and support…
While usual activities have either gone online or are temporarily suspended, we are running 3 new ‘Drop-In’ Bible Studies a week. They will start in May – and we will meet on Zoom, study a psalm and pray through what we discover and learn.
These new groups will meet on Wednesday mornings (10am), Thursday evenings (8pm) and Friday afternoons (2pm). Each week, the same psalm will be studied at all three Bible Studies.
You are very welcome to join whether or not you’ve been part of a Women’s Bible Study before.
Please note that these are not intended to replace other groups – they are simply designed to provide temporary additional encouragement for people to dip in to as and when they like.
For Zoom links/codes email Lizzie Ling.
Women’s ‘Drop-In’ Bible Study – week beginning
Women’s Bible Studies
Various Bible study groups meet each week during term time.
There are meetings on different days of the week, either in homes around town or centrally at the church. Crèches are available at some.
All women, whatever their age and stage in life, are welcome to join.
Please contact Lizzie Ling for more information, or if you would like to join a group.
Our Thursday morning brunches take place once a term and are an opportunity to explore the relationship of the Christian faith to real issues we face day-to-day. Everyone is very welcome – believers and non-believers alike. Creche is available.
Contact Lizzie Ling.
Meets occasionally on Friday evenings in the hope that women who work can come along. The aim is to relax together in a private home, share stories and pray. A staggered start time allows flexibility and an early finish allows for an early night.
Dates: Friday 7th February.
Time: arrive 7-7:45pm. Evening finishes at 9pm.
Venue: We meet in various homes in and around the city. Details of the venue will be emailed to those who have booked shortly before the event.
Food: Sandwiches available for those who haven’t had supper. Puddings at the end of the evening. There is no charge.
Contact Lizzie Ling for more details. Booking essential.
Thursday Afternoon Fellowship (TAF)
TAF meets from 2-3:30pm at the church most Thursday afternoons in term time. Newcomers are always very welcome.
We enjoy praying together, singing and listening to a talk from the Bible, and end with chatting over tea and biscuits.
TAF lunches, which are open to both men and women, are held on the first Thursday of every month (except January and over the summer) and on Thursday afternoons in August we host Summer Socials.
For more information about TAF, TAF lunches or Summer Socials, please contact the church office or on 01865 240438.
Sparklers is a weekly group run for children aged up to 4 and their mums/dads/grandparents/carers – from 10am to 12 noon on Wednesday during term time. Everyone is welcome.
The morning includes songs, a Bible story, craft and some great toys.
